DOG SHEDDING

Posted On : May 17, 2012

Dog shedding occurs in nearly all dogs and is a natural process of eliminating (shedding) dead hair and it occurs mainly for a couple of reasons:

1- To allow a new coat to come in.

2- Changes in temperature.

Grooming your dog is the most important key to reduce dog shedding.

Regular brushing (once or twice a week) is the best way to keep the loose hair from falling all over your place. This process also includes pulling using a comb through the hair until it runs through smoothly.

For the breeds with double coats, its best to use an undercoat rake to pull out the loose undercoat.

For mats in the fur, use the dematting rake to cut through it and untangle the matts.

We proudly announce that Aussie Mobile Pet is now serving Libertyville, Mettawa, and Green Oaks in Lake County, Il. providing pet grooming services at your home.
